Definition:

Essentially, an Eco entrepreneur is a person who starts a new business venture, who can turn transform other people trash into gold opportunity for wealth with broad range of business
However, we tend to think of eco entrepreneurs as people who have a talent for seeing opportunities from wastes , emissions , effluents and the abilities to develop those opportunities into profit-making businesses.

Are entrepreneurs born or made? According to Susan , from Canada and Baron from U.S.A, the debate still rages, but the current consensus is that successful entrepreneurs share a constellation of personality traits. In other words, some people are naturally more entrepreneurial than others.
A common misperception about entrepreneurs is that entrepreneurs are wild risk-takers. Entrepreneurs do take risks, but only calculated ones. One of the abilities successful entrepreneurs share is the ability to evaluate risks by a complex process .In general this process involves generation of idea for the new product and or recognition of opportunity , assembling the resources needed to launch a new venture , launching the venture ,running and growing the business and harvesting the rewards

Characteristics of a Successful Entrepreneur

Courage:Courage means you must have an entrepreneurial instinct, which is an overwhelming desire to have your own small business. You must have the Courage and dedication to your goal and objectives . Incidentally, devotion to your goal is much more likely if you have a love for your intended business. Life is too short to start a business that doesn't give you satisfaction and joy. And, through good times and bad times, you will stick with something you love. As Solomon said, "There is nothing better for men (and women!) than they should be happy in their work-so let them enjoy it now."

Business intelligence: While appropriate educational credentials are important, entrepreneurial "brains" means more than scholastic achievements. To become a successful entrepreneur, you should have a working knowledge about the business you plan to start before you start it. Common sense, combined with appropriate experience, is the necessary thinking power. Postive thinking , follow through and attention to detail are very important.

Money:Every small Business needs money of your own plus sufficient capital to maintain a positive cash flow for at least a year. Many small businesses can be started on a very small scale with a small investment. Then, as the business grows and you gain experience, cash flow from your business can be used for growth. In some cases, you don't need starting capital to hire other people because you might start by doing everything yourself. The "do it yourself" start is a good way to learn everything about your business and also makes you better qualified to delegate work to others later on. You can control your risk by placing a limit on how much you invest in your business.

System thinking of Eco and Energy business

Phonlathep Tangsukkasemsan ,Fac.Eng ,2009.2.Asian Univerity, Thailand

Key concept:

1. Why entrepreneur success?
2. Why system modeling?
3. What are closed and open systems?
4. Why energy efficiency of the internal combustion engine is still less that 50%?
5. How to increase the energy efficiency?

Summary:

In order to be successful, one must not only be the employee, but must do the business. When one come up with the new ideas and starts the business, one is called “Entrepreneur”. For the entrepreneur to success, it requires both system modeling and system thinking.

System thinking is any process of estimating or inferring how local policies, actions, or changes influence the state of the neighboring universe. It is an approach to problem solving that views "problems" as parts of an overall system, rather than reacting to present outcomes or events and potentially contributing to further development of the undesired issue or problem.

In this way, the entrepreneur is able to plan his business and see the forthcoming events and problems and able to handle them. There are two types of the system, namely closed system and open system. A closed system is a system in the state of being isolated from its surrounding environment while the open system is the system which a system continuously interacts with its environment.

As an engineer, one field that engineer should take into account of being entrepreneur is energy business. Nowadays, the internal combustion engine has the fuel efficiency below 50%. This is due to the losses in form of heat loss, friction, and vibration. If an engineer turn entrepreneur comes up with the method of increasing the efficiency of the IC engine, the business tends to be successful.
