1) Concept of block rubber processing. Fresh latex was coagulated in rectangular tanks with formic acid as
coagulant at pH 5.2. Coagulum was cut mechanically into slices and fed to ribbed rollers for initial size reduction
into blanket---> crepe---> wet crumbs by hammer-milling--->drying at 110C---> baling.
2) Auto acid addition system designed for long trough type coagulation giving uniform light coloured and constant
viscosity products fetching high premiums over other latex grades.
3) For ethylene stimulated trees which give more letex output and collection in PE bags, a bag separating machine.
Good for areas where labour is scarce.
4) Measurement of the rubber content of wet rubber by heat balance without need for drying.
5) Reduction of extraxtable protein content of examination gloves to <50 mg per kg. glove mass. This removes glove
allergy problem with simpler treatment system which is significantly cheaper than currently used practices.
6) Improved design of crates for shipping bales of rubber.
7) Writing notes on rubber processing for trainees and other factory personnel.
These are also applicable to rubber in other countries like those in south Asia or America.
