There seem to be signs that the small scale gasifier business is ready for
takeoff, or at least a resurgence.

Tax incentives in the UK and Germany have lead to significant sales for a UK
firm that has gone into full production in the last couple of years. A firm
in India that now sells to 20 countries expects to build 100 gasifiers this
year. Pilot gasifiers in Belgium and elsewhere now have a few years of
operation. Gasifiers long in development are poised for commercial sales.
Gasifiers based on new concepts are being proven in Europe and the US.



Will we see more district heating plants in Europe generating power with
gasifiers? Xylowatt (Belgium), Gussing (Austria-Repotec) and Kokemaki
(Finland- Condens Oy) have lead the way. When will we see small scale power
generation in the US?
